Setting Therapy Goals Helps Generations at Lincoln Resident Return Home Sooner

August 1, 2019

Peggy Mueller

When Peggy Mueller was referred to Generations at Lincoln, she could not walk at all, was being fed through a feeding tube and relied on a trach to breathe. Peggy was unsure of what to expect, but she knew her goal was to return home being able to walk without the need for a feeding tube and a trach.

Setting goals was a huge part of Peggy’s success.

“I was being a friend for Peggy. She was scared at first but speaking to her about her goals was comforting.” shared Joanie Graber, CNA.

Ketra Elchelkraut, ATS Physical Therapy Assistant, was also instrumental in Peggy’s success.

“It’s not just a job, it’s a passion to help. I would be there for encouragement for Peggy to get home,” she explained.

Peggy also enjoyed working with Darla Brown, CNA: Brandon Jones, CNA and Brittany Burchi, ATS Occupational Therapist Assistant.

“I would definitely recommend Generations at Lincoln,” Peggy added. “The facility was nice and the staff was wonderful.”

Thanks to the care and therapies provided by the team at Generations at Lincoln and Advanced Therapy Solutions (ATS), Peggy was able to do all of this and return home after two short months.
